It seems that the world doesn't want us to "voice" our opinion.
They don't want us to point out a wrong.
That is "intolerant".
That is "narrow-minded".
That is "not letting them grow".
for their jobs,
their actions
or their word.
That is "being difficult"
or “judgemental”
or “not supportive”.
This is how things seem. But I know that God can be held accountable for every promise He ever made.
Every. Single. One.
He doesn't whine that it isn't in his contract.
Or turn it on me to uphold.
He doesn't accuse me of not having any promises.
He just keeps them.
Before I ever acknowledged Him,
Before time began He had every intention of keeping His promises.
He kept them.
When I don’t understand,
He keeps them still.
And it seems the gap between this world
and HIM
will always feel IMMENSE.
The gap is immense, and yet He always reaches down to us whenever we look to Him. Isn't it a blessing?
ReplyDeleteAmen, Karmen!! Love this!!
ReplyDeleteSo much truth here! Thank you for sharing. Our sermon today was being accountable to God, I think your post fits nicely into that theme.
ReplyDeleteI love that you said "when I don't understand, He keeps them still." As human beings, sometimes it's hard to understand why God would keep a certain promise. Especially how we can be sometimes. But, God is good and He has a plan. Even if we don't understand why.
ReplyDeleteI love how you broke up the lines to show the huge gap between humanity and God. Perfectly illustrates your topic! And so true. So true.
ReplyDeleteYes. Perfect. We can always count on God to follow through on His promises.
