The 3 Strands

Day #18

A dear sweet young woman, Jennifer, got married last weekend.

McDaniel, Jennifer and Ellie.

She means the world to us.

She led a bible study for the middle school and high school girls in our church.

She used to house sit and dog sit for us when we were out of town.

She and Nigel have a lovely bond.

I guess he managed to sneak into her family portrait when they were being photographed and she was dog sitting him.

Jennifer also used to do all the Hartranft girls’ hair.

Which is no easy task, I must say.

Then she began to use her great talents to teach others and got too busy to keep up with the growing demands of our insanely, thick hair.

During her wedding ceremony their was laughter.

And instead of lighting a unity candle, the couple braided a three-stranded cord
to represent God’s place in their marriage.

It was so neat!

While Jennifer braided the cords, David held the strands and someone read about God being the the third cord in the braided strand.

Ecclesiastes 4:12

"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

It was such a neat moment of a sweet event that we were so privileged to share with them.
