I’m Ready for Something Different

Day #17

We have a day off of school so McDaniel and I are going on an OFFICIAL college visit today.

No football game.

No mascot judging.
(maybe)

I’m so glad.

I’m ready for something different.

I’m weary.

We have been barraged with bad news lately.

Cancer.

Death.

Illness.

Divorce.

Despair.

I’m weary.

I’m ready for something different.

I’ve seen firsthand the hopelessness

but I’ve also seen the hope.

I’ve heard the profound grief

but also whispers of peace.

I’ve seen the joy after despair.

It’s a scary time with very real things to fear

but I can’t help but feel that something good is coming

and I’m ready for something different,
aren’t you?

But forget all that--
it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.
For I am about to do something new.
See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

Isaiah 43:18-19
